About Me

Hello Tuscany Neighbors! My name is Dan Thigpen, and I am running for one of the open seats in this year’s Tuscany Homeowner’s Association, Board of Director’s election. My wife Carly, our two girls, Harper and Hadley and I, all moved to Tuscany five years ago from California. What drew us to this amazing and diverse community was its beauty, amenities, the active lifestyle it offered and the activities it provided for us. We’ve been here five years and we love it more today than the day we moved in.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and am currently employed as a Senior Executive in the Home Living Industry. The Home Living industry largely revolves around furniture and mattress manufacturing. However, my role as the Senior Director for Sales and Marketing is quite broad. I oversee Point of Purchase, website content, social media, instore inventory and much more. I have overseen $148 million in sales and built a team of forty-nine that reported to me. Separately, I have built a team of eighteen that are responsible for over $53 million in sales in just the last five years. In short, I build successful teams and direct people toward success. I negotiate the contracts for materials, and open new factories.

In addition to being a father and business executive, I volunteer on two advisory boards associated to my industry. My career has afforded me the opportunity in a professional environment, at a very high level, to increase existing revenue, negotiate multimillion dollar contracts, real estate, services, and material contracts.

Why am I running for the board? Good question! My family asked me this same question when I decided to run and I’m going to state here the same thing I told them. I am running as a father who wants to lead by example and show my daughters that sitting back and complaining does nothing to effect change.  To effect change you must think differently, plan and then realize those plans. Scientifically, doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result is the definition of insanity. I want a different result and so I will employ a different method. A wise friend and mentor once told me, don’t bring me a problem, bring me a solution. If I’m not going to step up and do my part in my community then it is not right to complain without providing a solution or at least attempting to. All that will do is divide like minds. Some people in Tuscany have brought to my attention that they want to feel like their voices are heard and don’t feel that’s always been the case. That needs to change. It takes great people, time, effort and ethics to keep this community beautiful, well-funded and looking toward the future. This is why I want to serve the residents of Tuscany and help make their voices heard. Better planning, better execution and better results.
